A group of social housing activists travelled to Amikam, a small Israeli settlement. Among them were mothers and children eligible for housing that are still on the waiting list. After police attempted to turn them back, the activists, determined to reach their destination, the home of Yoav Galant, housing minister, the activists marched to the gates of his estate. As the adults held placards protesting the decline of social housing and the plight of many needy families, the children drew houses with chalk on the sidewalks. Protesters finally left the area, but not before delivering letters from eligible mothers to the minister’s security personnel.
