Today's march was met with excessive force by the Israeli army, as protesters were fired upon with tear gas canisters, rubber-coated and even live bullets. Six young men were injured, five from live bullets, and one from a tear gas canister. Although eventually transported to hospital for treatment, the army refused to let the ambulance through for about half an hour.

Hebron. Shuhadaa street in the old city used to be a lively market place, but was abruptly shut down by the Israeli military following the Goldstein Massacre of 1994. Barukh Goldstein, a settler and military doctor, fired at Muslim worshipers at the Ibrahimi mosque in the early hours of 25 February, 1994, killing 29 of them and wounding another 125. In the wake of subsequent violence, the Israeli military closed Shuhadaa street to Palestinians, shuttering stores and forcing residents off public spaces. Today, only Jewish settlers and their guests are allowed to move through the bulk of Shuhadaa street. Protesters chanted against the ongoing closure, against the ghettoization of Hebron and the continued settlement project that disrupt the daily lives of Palestinian civilians. The Israeli army dispersed protesters with barrages of tear gas. No serious injuries or arrests reported.

After several of the village's young men were released from Israeli prison, residents of Nabi Saleh confronted the occupying army, defying the army's expropriation of their water spring. The soldiers fired barrages of tear gas on demonstrators, including the new and improved-range kind. No major injuries reported.

After six months of popular uprising and brutal violent Israeli repression, Palestinians in the village of Nabi Saleh confronted the Israeli army to protest the ongoing occupation, land expropriations and extrajudicial killings. Protesters reported the army is now using a new, and lethal, kind of tear gas canisters, that are heavier than the previous ones, almost undetectable with a much bigger range. It is only a matter of time before these new canisters cause fatalities, they argued.

On the 80th day of Muhammad al-Qiq's hunger strike, villagers from Nabi Saleh and solidarity activists confronted the Israeli army demanding to release the journalist immediately. Al-Qiq, a journalist from Dura in the Hebron district, was jailed by Israel without charges or trial. Currently, hundreds of Palestinians are held in administrative detention as well. Al-Qiq launched his hunger strike demanding to be charged or released. Israeli court suspended his administrative detention order, but refused to let him be transferred to a Palestinian hospital. In the past few days reports of al-Qiq's deteriorating health have raised concerned in Palestine and in the international community, and thousands of Palestinians have been protesting all over the country calling for his immediate release. 
The IDF attempted to disperse protesters in Nabi Saleh by firing live ammunition in their general direction. The army Also penalized Nabi Saleh residents by closing the main gate connecting the village with Ramallah. No injuries were reported.

Earlier this week, the military imposed a siege on the city of Ramallah and surrounding villages, including Nabi Saleh, which resulted in many cut off from their sources of livelihood, from places of study and work. 
The Israeli soldiers attempted to disperse the march using tear gas and rubber bullets, and targeted three photojournalists at the scene with rubber bullets. No injuries reported.

This entrance is often closed by the army, forcing thousands of motorists to take long detours to and from Ramallah. The soldiers attempted to disperse protesters with tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets, injuring several. Two protesters were transported to hospital for medical attention.

Villagers of Nabi Saleh marched today demanding the release of Ahmen Manasara, a 14 years old child from Jerusalem who is languishing in Israeli jail, accused of attacking a Jewish settler. Manasara was seriously injured by Israeli police, and a video from the scene shows him lying in a pool of his own blood while a settler verbally abuses him and tells him to "die already." Manasara is merely one among about 400 Palestinian minors in Israel's prisons. Marchers confronted the Israeli army, as the soldiers attempted to disperse them using tear gas and rubber coated steel bullet. One teenage girl was injured from a bullet.
