Commemorating the 66th anniversary of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, and the expulsion of some 700,000 Palestinian Arabs, hundreds of Palestinians took to the streets to confront the occupation army. Near Ofer military prison, protesters also expressed their solidarity with the hunger striking political prisoners.
The IDF assaulted the demonstration with barrages of tear gas, rubber coated steel bullets and live ammunition. Two demonstrators, Muhammad Odeh and Nadim Siam Nawara, were killed from live bullets fired by snipers from nearby rooftops. Several others were injured and required medical attention.
