Israeli activists staged a "die-in" at the  main railway station in Tel Aviv to protest the expulsion of African Asylum seekers to a "third country." Recently, such expulsions have resulted in the killing of asylum seekers in Sudan, Libya and elsewhere. The activists are demanding to grant asylum seekers status and allow them to remain while at the same time attending to social issues in the southern parts of the city, already rife with poverty and under-development.

Recently, Israel has confirmed that it now forces African asylum seekers to leave the country heading to a "third country" in Africa. Some of those already deported have been put in harm's way back in their country of origin, and several have been killed. Israeli activists gathered in Tel Aviv to protest the forced deportations of asylum seekers and demanded they are allowed to remain. They were confronted by another group that called for the immediate deportation of all asylum seekers, who they refer to as "infiltrators."
