On the 55th day of his hunger strike, Palestinian political prisoner was allowed a visit from his family: his parents, wife, Randa and their children at Asaf Harofeh hospital in Sarafand, where he is currently hospitalized. After the visit, during which Randa was appalled by her husband’s condition, the family decided to stage a sit-in outside the hospital, calling supporters to join them and pressure the Israeli military system to release Adnan. Scores of Palestinians gathered outside the hospital and chanted in solidarity with Adnan, who was within earshot of the protest. Several MKs from the Joint List were also in attendance and offered the family their support. Finally, late in the evening, a deal was reached: Khader Adnan is to cease his hunger strike and Israel will release him from administrative detention 12 July.

Right now: the family of Khader Adnan is at the Israeli hospital where the famed Palestinian hunger striking political prisoner is being held under armed guard. His wife, Randa, their children and his father were allowed to visit him today, and they are reporting his condition is critical, and his life is in imminent danger. They are calling for supporters to come and join them at the hospital, demanding the Israeli authorities to negotiate his release and save his life.
