Eight female activists, including single mothers living in public housing, occupied the main offices of Amidar in Tel Aviv today. Amidar, founded as a public housing corporation, is currently in the process of privatisation, as many of its assets are being sold in the market, living families eligible for public housing on the brink of homelessness. The activists came to Amidar offices to remind employees of the plight of Mazal Arami and her six children, about to lose their home, and many others in similar situation.
Finally, the women were told Arami would speak to an executive who guarantees a solution for her family, as long as the other activists leave the premises. The executive promised Arami he would be in touch with her the following day.
