Palestinians and solidarity activists marched today to commemorate Palestinian prisoner day, calling for the release of thousands jailed by Israel. In addition, marchers also commemorated the anniversary of the martyrdom of Khalil al-Wazir (Abu Jihad), assassinated by Israel in 1988 in his Tunis home.
The IDF responded with barrages of tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets in an attempt to disperse the demonstration. No major injuries reported.
