During the weekly Friday demonstration in Nabi Saleh, Palestinians and solidarity activists commemorated the first anniversary to the martyrdom of Mustafa Tamimi, killed by a tear gas canister shot by an Israeli soldier as well as Rushdi Tamimi, who was shot and killed three weeks ago. Protesters were carrying banners in Hebrew and Arabic naming the soldier who shot Mustafa Tamimi as well as others in the IDF chain of command. The IDF attempted to suppress the demonstration with massive amounts of tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets, and for several hours residents resisted attempts to invade the village; A few suffered injuries due to rubber bullets and many suffocated from the tear gas.
