The weekly demonstration at the Ramallah-district village of Nabi Saleh called for international solidarity with the Palestinian popular resistance and the growing numbers of political prisoners in Israeli prisons. The Israeli army attempted to disperse protesters with barrages of tear gas canisters, rubber bullets, and even live (“tutu”) ammunition, and also closed the main gate to the village, which serves neighbouring communities and connects them to Ramallah. After the demonstration ended, the soldiers entered the village and fired tear gas at residential homes. One woman was rushed to hospitals to be treated for gas inhalation.
