Israeli human rights activists gathered outside the home of Yitzhak Aharonovitch, former Israeli police deputy police commissioner and minister of public security, currently, claim protesters, heads IMI Systems Ltd, one of the biggest Israeli weapons and military technology manufacturer, currently exporting arms to Burma / Mynmar, where the military engages with systematic ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya minority. International human rights organizations have reported of troops firing indiscriminately at unarmed Rohingya men, women and children, and that hundreds of villages have burnt to the ground. More than 500,000 people have fled the violence, with thousands trapped in a no-man’s land between the Burma and Bangladesh, according to the UN refugee agency (UNHCR).
While Aharonovich was inside his home during the demonstration, he opted to send out his son, who was visibly upset and responded in a hostile manner to the protesters’ claims.
