On Nakba day, Protesters held a die-in at the “Euro vision village.” This Euro vision site was erected on the land of the Palestinian village Al Manshiya that was ethnically cleansed in 1948. The action was part of an ongoing action week to protest Israel’s hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest
As hundreds of thousands protested at the eastern fence of the Gaza concentration camp for their right to return to the villages and towns form which they expelled; Israelis gathered to celebrate.
To remind them of the reality that exists just an hour away the protesters held up pictures of Palestinian protesters murdered by Israeli soldiers for demanding freedom and equality. They then lay down and played dead showing the results of Israel’s excessive use of force. At the same time Israeli snipers shot and injured 62 protesters at fence besieging Gaza, two of the injured are reported to be in serious condition. Two medics were among the injured.
