Commemorating Palestinian prisoner’s day, protesters gathered in the outskirts of Bitunia, adjacent to the Ofer military compound and prison, where hundreds of Palestinian detainees are currently jailed. The IDF attempted to disperse protesters using tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets. No major injuries reported.
As of February 2015, there were 5609 Palestinians in Israeli jails, 182 of whom are minors, and 424 in administrative detention (held without charges). (B’Tselem)
