In anticipation of the nationwide “day of rage” on 30.11.2013, Yaffa-based activists, both Palestinians and Jewish, protested at the historical clock tower square against the Prawer plan which threatens to displace at least 30,000 Bedouins from their home in “unrecognized villages” in the Naqab / Negev, in southern Palestine. Even before the plan has been brought to a vote at the Kenesset, the Israeli government already decided to demolish Umm al-Hiran and ‘Atir, two Bedouin villages, in order to build a Jewish-only settlement, Hiran.
